Our dogs never cuddled with each other all that much.
I mean, they got along fine-- two rescue dogs in their senior years, living the high life chasing squirrels and snacking on carrots and the occasional bacon treat. But they each had their own space, and rarely laid on top of each other for warmth or to show affection the way some dogs do.
